Information about Lhoknga Plant
Structured and systematic team collaboration and readiness to follow the consultant's instructions for improvement were among the main drivers behind Lhoknga Mill achieving a Green rating for the second time in 2022. This achievement was also thanks to the contribution of several flagship programs.
These include Sharia Cooperatives (KopSyah), which provide easy access to capital for the community through sharia-based savings and loan cooperatives. In terms of the environment, the Lhoknga Factory implements initiatives to conserve clean water through the installation of water recycling facilities for machine cooling processes, as well as reducing water pollution through the installation of liquid waste filtration drums at the domestic wastewater treatment plant (IPAL).
The Lhoknga plant also made efforts to reduce electricity consumption in the Raw Mill Separator Motor Upgrade, use used oil in the Kiln Burner as an effort to reduce carbon emissions, and optimize the use of Cement Grinding Aid (CGA) Refill in the Cement Mill.
Biodiversity of the Lhoknga Plant
PT Solusi Bangun Andalas (Lhoknga Factory) continues to strengthen its commitment to biodiversity conservation by dedicating a 31-hectare conservation area in a former limestone and clay mine. The area is planted with various types of trees such as pine, pulai (endemic to limestone), mahogany, and teak. This program has successfully increased the flora biodiversity index from 1.28 in 2019 to 1.75 in mid-2025. Meanwhile, the fauna index also shows a positive trend, rising from 1.92 (2020) to 3.85 (2025). Translated with DeepL.com (free version)
Since the end of 2023, the Lhoknga Factory has also been running a mangrove conservation program and has planted 4,950 seedlings as of June 2025. Other initiatives such as quail farming, the utilization of young coconut waste, and the application of local bacteria to support plant growth have also strengthened the local ecosystem.
