Jakarta, March 9, 2026 – The recent increase in extreme rainfall has the potential to trigger soil movement and landslides across various regions in Indonesia, particularly in areas characterized by peat and clay. These soil types possess a low bearing capacity and are highly susceptible to cracking and surface subsidence when moisture levels rise. Strengthening foundations is crucial for developing infrastructure that is more adaptive to climate risks, especially in regions with soft soil, which are estimated to cover approximately 10% of Indonesia's total landmass.

In response to these challenges, PT Solusi Bangun Indonesia Tbk ("Solusi Bangun Indonesia") is strengthening its role in the development of climate-resilient infrastructure through the advancement of soil stabilization solutions. This initiative represents a strategic collaboration with Japan's Taiheiyo Cement Corporation, facilitating the transfer of technology and expertise from a nation that consistently navigates severe geotechnical challenges.

Together with its parent company, PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG), Solusi Bangun Indonesia signed a business agreement that expands the scope of the strategic partnership established between Solusi Bangun Indonesia and Taiheiyo in 2021. The signing took place in Tokyo in January 2026 among five entities from the SIG Group and the Taiheiyo Cement Group to accelerate and scale up the business. The entities were represented by the President Director of SIG, Indrieffouny Indra; the President Director of PT Solusi Bangun Indonesia Tbk, Rizki Kresno Edhie Hambali; the President Director of PT Mitra Kiara Indonesia, Mirza Whibowo Soenarto; alongside the President and Representative Director of Taiheiyo Cement Corporation, Yoshifumi Taura; and the President Director of PT Taiheiyo International Indonesia, Makoto Nakano.

The President Director of Solusi Bangun Indonesia, Rizki Kresno Edhie Hambali, stated that infrastructure resilience must begin with a strong foundation that is adaptive to environmental dynamics. "Climate change demands a more meticulous construction approach starting from the subgrade planning stage. Through innovative soil stabilization solutions, we are enhancing structural stability to ensure the long-term durability of projects," said Rizki Kresno.

Furthermore, Rizki Kresno explained that because it is more material-efficient compared to conventional methods such as soil replacement and vertical drains, this solution enables the utilization of unstable soft soil directly at the construction site. This significantly accelerates construction timelines and reduces the handling of excess soil, making it a more sustainable and cost-efficient approach.

The soil stabilization solution developed within the framework of this strategic partnership enables a more efficient increase in the shear strength and bearing capacity of soft soil, while simultaneously optimizing the use of binding materials. This engineering approach helps minimize the risks of land subsidence and soil displacement, extends the service life of the infrastructure, utilizes eco-friendly materials that reduce environmental impact, and minimizes potential rehabilitation costs caused by future structural damage.

Additionally, the high durability of Solusi Bangun Indonesia's soil stabilization solution has also been recognized in construction projects for warehouses, shopping centers, and parking facilities in Cikarang and Bekasi, areas characterized by extensive soft soil conditions.

Gemini said By prioritizing product innovation and material efficiency, Solusi Bangun Indonesia delivers foundations that do more than merely support structures; they also strengthen the resilience of Indonesia's development amidst the increasingly dynamic risks of climate change.
