Banda Aceh, October 4, 2025 – PT Solusi Bangun Andalas, a cement manufacturer under the Semen Andalas brand, has been recognized for its commitment to implementing good and sustainable mining practices by winning 1st Runner Up in the Best Practices in Sustainable Mineral Development Mineral Mining (Non-Metallic) category at the ASEAN Mineral Awards held in Laos on October 2, 2025.
General Manager of PT Solusi Bangun Andalas, R. Adi Santosa, expressed his pride in the achievement, which is recognition of the hard work, commitment, and collaboration of the entire team within the company. “Not only because we are one of Indonesia's representatives competing in the Southeast Asian arena, this award further motivates us to continue maintaining the highest standards in sustainable mining practices,” said R. Adi Santosa.
R. Adi Santosa also expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the full support of stakeholders such as the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), the Aceh ESDM Office, and especially the people of Aceh, in the Company's journey to become part of the solution for national development.
The ASEAN Mineral Awards are the most prestigious event that serves as a barometer for the implementation of best mining practices in the Southeast Asian region. This event is held every two years by ASEAN through the ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting on Minerals (ASOMM) to recognize the initiatives and performance of companies in implementing best practices in sustainable mineral resource management.
The ASEAN Mineral Awards provide assessments covering various important aspects such as environmental management, occupational safety and health implementation, energy efficiency, social benefits for surrounding communities, and sustainability efforts in preserving natural resources.
Previously in 2024, PT Solusi Bangun Andalas also won the Tamasya (Mining for Community Welfare) Award from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources in the category of Mineral Commodity Environmental Implementation. "This is a concrete manifestation of Solusi Bangun Andalas' commitment to continuously improve good mining practices and consistently implement the Mining Safety Management System. As a result, we not only produce environmentally friendly Semen Andalas cement, but also provide many positive benefits to the community through our involvement in social and environmental programs, as well as our contributions to development," said R.
