This year, SBI sent three innovation teams that each developed the High Sulfur Resistant Cement, Liquid Waste Reactor, and Broken Bag Locator. These innovations support efficiency, sustainability, and workplace safety in the cement industry while contributing to the creation of more environmentally friendly solutions.
Innovation Towards a Green Industry
One of SBI’s flagship innovations is High Sulfur Resistant Cement, aimed at addressing the issue of cement clumping during distribution and storage, preventing hardening that slows down the unloading process. Ulul Azmi, the leader of this innovation team, explained that this innovation successfully reduced cement clumping, improving the unloading process efficiency and positively impacting productivity and energy efficiency.
Additionally, SBI introduced the Broken Bag Locator, which automatically detects damage to filter bags in dust collectors. Andri Iswanto, the leader of this innovation team, stated that this system can identify the location of damage with 100% accuracy, reducing inspection time from 8 hours to just 2 hours, directly improving operational efficiency and workplace safety.
The third innovation developed by SBI is the Liquid Waste Reactor (LWR), an innovative solution led by Aditya Indra. The LWR aims to process liquid waste into an alternative fuel with quality close to coal, thereby reducing dependence on coal while lowering carbon emissions. This innovation demonstrates SBI’s commitment to creating more environmentally friendly and sustainable solutions.
